Hello, I am Ellen Pace, originally from Dallas, Texas, but my family and I have made Austin home for the last 24 years. After graduating from University of Texas-Austin with an advertising career and being a full time mom, I rediscovered my love of nature and horses while learning about the mental health field. I pursued my interests and received a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Saint Edwards University as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-A) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-Intern).

I am trained in Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP) and EMDR and am an LCDC-Intern where I currently work at an Inpatient Addiction Treatment Center.  I facilitate EMDR sessions both in office and with clients on horseback. Equine-Assisted Therapy supports clients mentally and physically through the relational presence of the horse and therapist. This mode of treatment has been known to evoke an emotional response, personal awareness, and change.

My experience includes work with individuals, groups, and families.  My holistic approach is open to all ages and gender. I view individuals in the context of their families and social/cultural environment. I seek to provide a space for clients and families to process and discover their best selves while encouraging them in their life journey.  I have worked internationally in China and Africa, creating an equine-assisted therapy program, and using EMDR PRECI protocol to assist orphans in Zambia, Africa.
