About Dianna

Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate
Supervised by Michelle Silva Segura, LMFT-S, LPC-S, SEP

My name is Dianna Suarez, I am a graduate of the University of Houston and received my Master’s in Counseling from St. Edward’s University. My own personal journey in therapy is what sparked my interest in this field and I am very grateful to be able to partake in the healing journey of other individuals. I believe that my own personal experiences help me to support and guide my clients, but ultimately the client takes the lead in their own individual journey. Though I was raised in Toluca, Mexico, I have lived in Austin most of my adult life, and I maintain a strong connection with my Mexican culture. Being fully bilingual (Spanish-English) and having a diverse cultural background, I have had the opportunity to connect with wide ranging groups of people and clients.

We often hear that self-care is important to live a balanced lifestyle and I believe that to be true. Self-care is a big part of self-discovery and it takes time and self-compassion for yourself and those around you. I believe that by empowering clients to be compassionate of themselves allows them to have a deeper connection and understanding of who they are and how they relate to the world around them. We all have a story and I am here to provide a safe and caring environment to tell yours.

I work with a variety of modalities to help my clients reach their goals. The primary approach I draw from is, mindfulness. I find the present to be a place that can show many aspects of a person’s life and how far they’ve come. My experience has been working with a diverse population of adults, adolescents, couples, groups, and families who have experienced a range of trauma, postpartum depression, and transitional periods in their life. Transitions can be overwhelming and can make you experience a variety of emotions including:  anxiety, grief, depression, and anger. I am here to help you find tools to help you cope with and better understand the process you are going through.

I look forward to working with you!
